BE HAPPY NOW
The secret of contentment is to discover what stimulates your curiosity and enthusiasm – then savour every moment. As Andrew Matthews points out in ‘Being Happy!’, “Living in the now expands our awareness…rather than shutting off. Each of us has the choice, moment by moment, as to whether we really live and absorb and allow ourselves to be touched and affected.”

Remember that no matter what your life circumstances are, your happiness can be enhanced by remaining open to occasions of joy. So start right now, and live your life to the full. The following may help you on your journey to a happier, more fulfilled life.

BE HAPPY TODAY
Be active: Actively taking part in your life is vital to happiness. Make sure that there is movement in your life – in the form of challenges, plans expanding your knowledge – and that you engage with the events of your life in a manner that is enlivening and enriching to you.
Stay Focused: Whatever you are doing, try to give it your total commitment – everything from carrying out the chores at home, to fulfilling your everyday tasks at work. Concentration helps to anchor you into your life here and now, and makes you feel more alive.
Stop waiting: How many times have you told yourself, “ I’ll be happy when… “? Stop waiting for some future good that may or may not happen, and get on with living the day you have.
Have goals: If you have a general sense of where your life is going, you are more likely to feel satisfaction in the now. Draw up plans for the future and you are more likely to get there!
Acknowledge what you have: Are you aware of all the good you have now? Stop dwelling on everything that’s wrong in your life, and focus on all the good things that work for you today.
